ok, the idea of calling "local" businesses was not so good. We called at least thirty business owners, from Gift Stores to Clothing Stores and more. With "we" I mean my husband and my best friends daughter - Tina - who worked successfully in the sales business before. I asked them for help because I thought maybe I was doing something wrong.
When I asked Tina to make some calls for me she was very motivated and pretty much said that it was a piece of cake for her but after she was turned down several times she said "that really hurt" lol so I told her "See, what I'm going through". She said she never thought she was going to take it to heart but it really hurt her the way she received those answers. She said "I feel like calling her back and telling her a piece of my mind" lol I really had to laugh, it was funny the way she said it.
Back to contacting business owners: All I did was ask for permission to send an email with more info after I explained that I was working with My Power Mall which is a division of "Together We Can Change the World". I asked if they could use more customers and told them that we just launched a Business Partnership Program. That's all! Not one email address, nothing, nada, nix!
About half of the people did not even listen more than 5 seconds and all others either said straight up no or just hung up the phone. All my enthusiasm was gone for today.
Todays morning call helped me out a bit though, gave me more ideas to focus on different directions which I will do first thing in the morning. I have no other choice but contacting people by phone or email, it is still snowing!!!
I am sorry I had no positive experiences to share, I really am doing the best I can :( It makes me so mad that I don't seem to succeed with anything I do and I wish I had something positive to tell but hopefully tomorrow? :)
